Helsingborg H+

Front was invited to participate in the planning and design of a new harbour area in Helsingborg. They wanted to create furniture for a public place where people can meet and socialise, connecting the development of a society with its history and tradition. Front developed a series of public "urban furniture" as a proposal to furnish the future development with. Benches with protection against the wind and outdoor grills. The material used was the characteristic Helsingborg bricks, recycled from the old harbour magazine, chosen both for sustainability but also for reflecting the history and tradition of the city. The grid of the grill was designed to decorate what was barbecued with a pattern with quotes from Shakespeare's Hamlet. This connects the furniture to the place, as the castle of Kronborg is visible on the other side of the water.
